Terms and Conditions

Elos does not own, operate or maintain the vehicles. The Partner is the one who rents out, delivers, insures and assists the vehicle.

When you book, you enter into two contracts: a booking service contract with Elos Technologies, Sociedade Unipessoal (“Elos”), governed by these Terms, and a rental contract with the Partner, governed by the Partner's conditions shown at checkout and in the confirmation email. In a conflict about the vehicle, the insurance, the delivery or the rental, the Partner's conditions apply; about the booking, the online payment and the platform, these Terms apply.

The price shown at checkout is the booking price: it includes the daily rate, the season if any, the length-of-rental discount if any, the extras you chose and the pick-up fees indicated. We do not add fees after you confirm. Online payment is processed by a certified payment operator; your card details never pass through our servers. A confirmed booking reaches the Partner the moment you confirm it.

The following are not part of the booking price, because they belong to the Partner and are paid at pick-up or at the end of the rental when they apply: the security deposit, missing fuel, extraordinary cleaning, late returns, damage, fines and tolls. They are described in the Booking, Cancellation and Return Policy and in the Partner's conditions.

Anyone with the legal capacity to contract can book. The driver must meet the minimum age set by the Partner, shown on the vehicle page, and hold a driving licence valid for the whole rental. Some Partners require a minimum licence history, a credit card in the driver's name, or an international driving permit for licences not written in the Latin alphabet; when this applies, it is shown on the vehicle page.

Prices are shown in the Partner's currency; in Cabo Verde, in Cabo Verdean escudos. At checkout, what you pay online is the part that confirms the booking, the platform fee, unless the Partner allows full payment online; the remainder is paid to the Partner at pick-up, by the means the Partner accepts. Elos accepts Vinti4, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

The free-cancellation deadline is set by each Partner and shown at checkout and in your account; Elos does not set a single deadline. The full rules, including changes of dates and times, no-shows and vehicle unavailability, are in the Booking, Cancellation and Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for the accuracy of the data you give us. You can export your data and delete your account in your personal area; deletion anonymises the account and keeps, without personal data, the booking records that tax law requires us to retain.

Elos is responsible for the operation of the platform, for transmitting the booking to the Partner and for the online payment. It is not responsible for the condition of the vehicle, roadside assistance, insurance or the Partner's availability failures, which are the Partner's responsibility. Where Elos is liable, its liability is limited to the amount it charged online for the booking in question, without prejudice to any rights the law grants you that cannot be limited.

If something goes wrong with the Partner, talk to them first; if there is no answer, Elos mediates. Write to info@elos.cv or on WhatsApp at +238 922 82 67, every day from 8am to 8pm. We log the complaint and reply within two working days.

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cabo Verde. For disputes with consumers resident in Cabo Verde, the court of the Praia judicial district has jurisdiction. If you live in another country and its law gives you protection that cannot be waived by contract, that protection remains.

These Terms exist in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. If the versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails. When we change them, the date at the top changes and the previous version is available on request. Bookings made before a change are governed by the version in force on the booking date.
